Furniture, Equipment & Design (FED)

Designing environments that inspire, transform and sustain
EllisDon’s Furniture, Equipment & Design (FED) division—working alongside Oxford Specialties—supports healthcare technology by ensuring the built environment is ready for it. We coordinate FF&E and Architectural Specialties to enable smart patient rooms, digital whiteboards and signage, nurse call systems, RTLS for asset and staff tracking, and connected medical equipment. By helping to align space, infrastructure, and asset data with clinical and IT workflows, we translate health‑tech strategies into functional, connected care environments.
Single Point of Accountability
FED provides a single point of accountability, integrating FF&E planning, architectural specialties coordination, procurement, installation, and activation to ensure alignment with construction schedules, clinical workflows, and operational requirements. Our collaborative approach brings together owners, clinicians, designers, builders, and technology stakeholders to deliver environments that are safe, efficient, and adaptable. Our services span the full lifecycle, including needs analysis, space and workstyle planning, development and management of FF&E databases, equipment responsibility matrices, and architectural specialties scopes such as Division 10 products and non‑structural interior components. FED leads comprehensive procurement programs—managing vendor sourcing, technical evaluations, budget development, contract administration, delivery coordination, and installation—while maintaining continuity across project phases.
Operational Readiness
FED also supports installation, activation, and operational readiness, overseeing logistics, placement, commissioning, and training to ensure all FF&E and architectural specialty assets are verified, functional, and ready for use. Throughout activation, we consider infrastructure readiness, flexibility, and lifecycle performance to support evolving clinical technologies and care models.
Integrated Team
With an integrated team of clinical advisors, biomedical engineers, interior designers, procurement specialists, and architectural specialties experts, FED brings deep expertise in healthcare workflows, regulatory requirements, and large‑scale program delivery. Supported by national reach and strong vendor partnerships—including MillerKnoll—FED delivers scalable FF&E and architectural specialties programs designed to perform within today’s connected, digitally enabled healthcare environments.
