RESOURCES

HOW DO YOU ENCOURAGE OR PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR OTHERS TO TAP INTO WHAT CAN HELP THEM?

The Resources module of the Odyssey program asks you to think about not only how you leverage the resources available to you, but more importantly how you encourage or provide opportunities for others to tap into what can help them.

To make meaningful changes we must leverage:

  • People
  • Technology
  • Tools

Resources focuses on two foundational principles of leadership at ED:

  • Relationships and Openness
  • Knowledge Transfer

JOEY COMEAU

HOW HIS CAREER WAS BUILT BY BEING GENUINE

Joey Comeau’s advice to resources is to take a deep breath and thoroughly assess your true self. However, do not overthink about the expectations others may have of you. Embracing our weaknesses and flaws enables us to be genuine and authentic, fostering the development of meaningful and impactful relationships.

RELATIONSHIP BUILDING

Types of Relationships

Transactional: Minimum level of interaction, interdependence or familiarity at play in the relationship

Interdependent: Higher degree of expectation in areas such as shared goals, shared knowledge, and mutual respect to get work completed

Transformational: Level of influence, mutuality, and vulnerability that is allowed and nurtured

AT ELLISDON WE BUILD ON GREAT RELATIONSHIPS

OPENNESS & KNOWLEDGE SHARING

Openness is one of our core values. We know that other businesses might not see openness as a strength to be leveraged - but at EllisDon we buck against this notion and ask employees to be radically open.

RADICAL OPENNESS

In absolutely every possible situation, show everybody everything. Even, especially, when it hurts. It’s how you build trust, how you build relationships, how you make money now and forever, and mostly, it's how you get great at what you do.

“Curiosity is a form of power – also a form of courage. It is the tool that sparks creativity. It is the technique that gets to innovation.”

Brian Grazer, Co-founder of Imagine Entertainment with Ron Howard

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO LEAD WITH CURIOSITY?

Leading with curiosity means putting aside your assumptions and expectations and leaning in with an open mind. Experts in their field who lead with curiousity eliminate blind spots and disrupt the norm. Embracing curiousity invigorates the mind.
