WHO WE ARE
EllisDon Civil’s Special Projects Division comprises construction professionals dedicated to improving civil infrastructure in the Greater Toronto Area. We provide our clients with the fluidity of working with a specialized division of EllisDon while having the availability of the company’s extensive resources. Our vast construction knowledge and experience, as well as self-performing capabilities enable us to execute projects of all scopes.
EllisDon Civil Special Projects is well-equipped to execute fully operational projects in constrained environments. We work with clients and stakeholders to ensure that daily operations remain uninterrupted while ensuring the safety of workers, subcontractors, and surrounding communities.
We have extensive experience with different modes of project delivery, including traditional design-bid-build, design-build, and Alternative Finance Procurement/P3 models. This diverse experience with applicable procurement models demonstrates that our team has expertise in the design and construction phases; we will evaluate the best procurement strategy and provide valuable inputs to design development.

Our team of 90+ individuals consist of Project Managers, Superintendents, Schedulers, Field Coordinators, and Administration Staff. As a team, we ensure that all projects are staffed with the most qualified individuals who understand our clients' needs and expectations and are committed to delivering the highest level of service. We have a longstanding reputation for approaching sub-trade management as a collaborative partnership and treating all our project partners with professionalism, integrity, and open and honest communication.

WHAT WE DO
Conveniently located in the Greater Toronto Area, EllisDon’s Civil Special Projects is one of the few large general contractors with an active portfolio of TTC projects.
Our highly knowledgeable team of professionals has the ability to work in various civil market sectors and execute projects of all scales and are experienced in delivering various forms of contracts including design-bid-build and construction management.
EllisDon Civil’s Special Projects Division will support projects from inception to execution, and will:
- Provide leadership and direction throughout all phases (pre-construction, construction, post-construction) of the project development.
- Utilize our wealth of experience and extensive industry network, to assist successful project delivery.
- Develop a detailed project schedule inclusive of design, approvals, procurement and construction durations to establish the sequence and timing required to promote efficiencies.
- Work with clients and their design consultants to ensure that sufficient design information is provided so that our estimating team can produce a realistic construction estimate and construction forecast cash flow. These reports will be updated throughout the design process and will prove to be a valuable tool in helping to inform decisions.

Q-Site Parking Garage

Construction on the parkade at the Queensway Health Centre commonly referred to as the Q-Site, is currently underway. The eight-level precast parking garage is anticipated to provide 910 parking spaces, with a projected gross floor area of 308,000 sq. ft.
Castle Frank Station - Easier Access Phase III
Burlington Canal Lift Bridge

As part of a joint venture, EllisDon Civil’s Special Project Division will complete the Burlington Canal Lift Bridge in two phases. Phase 1 includes removing and replacing the existing bridge deck, and Phase 2 involves the rehabilitation of the bridge approach spans and widening localized sidewalk sections
