Project Spotlight
West Lincoln Memorial Hospital
At West Lincoln Memorial Hospital, EllisDon delivered a highly coordinated, technology-enabled care environment by bringing together Energy & Digital Services, EKO, and Furniture, Equipment & Design as part of a single, integrated delivery approach.
Energy & Digital Services led the integration of Intelligent Clinical and Administrative Technologies, enabling nurse call, real time locating system, security, lighting, and clinical systems to operate seamlessly within the hospital’s self-managed network infrastructure. The technology within the facility is connected through EKO, EllisDon’s digital framework, which supports automated workflows, efficient alarm escalation, and responsive clinical coordination.
In parallel, the Furniture, Equipment & Design team ensured day one readiness by planning, procuring, and activating more than 12,000 pieces of furniture, fixtures, and medical equipment. Together, these efforts created a smart, resilient hospital environment designed to support efficient operations and high-quality care for the Niagara community.
In addition, the facility was constructed by EllisDon’s Southwestern Ontario construction team.
EKO in Action:
- Implemented automatic workflows for alarms and events, such as medical emergencies, life safety, abductions, water calls, pain calls, and washroom calls.
- Developed a custom EKO for Healthcare app that all medical staff can easily access on their mobile devices.
- Integrated closed loop communication within the platform, ensuring all alarms and events are answered and addressed as quickly as possible.
With EKO, West Lincoln Memorial Hospital delivers care with confidence today – and is ready for the demands of tomorrow.

Project Spotlight
West Park Healthcare Center (WPHC)
The West Park Healthcare Centre (WPHC) is a new, 740,000 square foot hospital located in Toronto, Ontario, providing the community with inpatient, outpatient and outreach services. The hospital’s services include specialized rehabilitation, complex continuing care, long-term care, and community health services to assist in the management of lung disease, diabetes, stroke, amputation and musculoskeletal issues arising from a life-changing event or illness.
From design through to operations, a number of EllisDon’s Infrastructure Services teams have helped successfully deliver this project: Furniture, Equipment & Design (FED), Energy & Digital Services (EDS), and EllisDon Facilities Services (EDFS).

EllisDon’s Energy & Digital Services team provided technology deployment and support on the project, including system integration, a real time location system, wayfinding, a distributed antenna system, nurse call, a patient entertainment solution, patient status monitors, and more. Our EDS team also deployed our AI-driven digital framework platform, EKO, at the facility, integrating all facility data, creating streamlined workflows for the hospital’s staff, and improving the patient care process.

EllisDon’s Furniture, Equipment & Design (FED) team procured both In-Contract Equipment and Not-In-Contract Equipment, totaling over 1,000 unique pieces of furniture and equipment, which included a milling and carving system based on a 6 axes anthropomorphic robot, 3D printers, a pharmacy boxpicker, x-ray systems, and a full commercial kitchen.
In addition, our FED team provided on-site inventory for over 10,000 pieces of furniture and equipment, helping WPHC create an equipment transfer list. Our team also managed the Equipment Utilities Data Report from design development through to substantial completion in November 2023, and helped determine room layouts and equipment bases for the design.

EllisDon will continue to support the new facility for years to come, as our EllisDon Facilities Services team is providing facility and lifecycle maintenance for a 30-year term, which started in February 2023. Their scope of services includes general management services, FM help desk services, utilities management, environmental management, emergency management, cleaning, waste management & recycling, pest control, security and surveillance, roads, snow and ice removal, and more.
Working Together at EllisDon
Our Infrastructure Services Division was proud to work alongside EllisDon’s Design-Build team, who led the design and construction of the new healthcare facility, as well as our EllisDon Capital Team, who was the Developer Lead, 100% Equity Provider and Financial Advisor for the project.
